Homeopathy is a branch of medicine that has been around for almost 200 years. It is based on insights dating back to Antiquity and was founded essentially by the German physician Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843). The fundamental principle of homeopathy is the Rule of Similars: ‘Likes may be cured by likes’. According to this homeopathic tenet, a substance that triggers or causes a particular medical condition can cure that condition if taken in great dilution (potency). Unlike conventional medicines that control or suppress symptoms of illness, homeopathic remedies are designed to activate and strengthen the body’s own healing powers.

Even experienced homoeopaths may find it difficult to quickly select the most appropriate combination remedy from the huge number of substances used in combination remedy homeopathy. Since Hahnemann’s time, the most useful combination remedies have been those that contain homeopathic substances with similar actions. These preparations contain multiple single agents that complement and support the effects of each other. The composition of combination products is usually the result of clinical practice observations and longstanding experience. Combination products have the added benefit of covering a broad range of symptoms, greatly facilitating remedy selection. The origins of our combination remedies (SIMILIAPLEX®) date back to the year 1896 – this means over a century of experience with homeopathic combination products.

Similiaplexes are registered homeopathic medicinal products and, therefore, have no labelled therapeutic indication.
